Jettwings Launches State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition in Manipur RS News

Adding another feather to its cap, Jetwings Group of Institutes along with Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur announced the launch of State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (SIHM) in Imphal. The launch was done by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh in the presence of his Council of Ministers and senior officials.

SIHM Manipur is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and initiated by the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur. Jetwings Group of Institutes under its parent banner Infovale Educational & Research (P) Ltd., in partnership with the Department of Tourism, has taken up all the functions of SHIM-Manipur in PPP mode to harness the skills among the youth in the hospitality sector with international standards. Has cooperated to set up, run and operate. Intends to co-create a workforce to promote and popularize Eastern Hospitality on an international platform.

Nongmaiching, Imphal East, SIHM Manipur will host a warm and vibrant campus for all the students aspiring for a career in the hotel and hospitality sector, spread over 5.1 acres of land surrounded by the abundance of nature. With this project, Jetwings is committed to leverage the state’s human capital through advanced regional training of international standards and promotion of tourism.

State Institute of Hotel and Hospitality Management will offer Diploma, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree Hotel and Hospitality Administration with specialization in various disciplines like Food and Beverage; Hotels and Hospitality-Human Resources; travel Tourism; hotels and hospitality; Cooking and Catering Technology-Food Production Operations; House kepping; bakery and confectionery; Front Office Operations; Hotels and Hospitality – Sales and Marketing. With 480 seats in both degree and diploma programs for the new academic session, SIHM Manipur seeks to combine the best elements of first class international academic content with technology-based sessions for its students.

Speaking about the importance of SIHM, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said, “I am extremely glad that the tourism department can conceptualize a project that will go a long way in strengthening our cultural significance and presenting it to the world. For decades the youth of our state had to look outside the region for opportunities, however, with this project, our youth can now hone their skills at home.

With nearly two decades of experience and expertise in skill training in the hospitality sector, Jetwings Group, PPP partner, aims to develop SIHM Manipur into one of the most sought after SIHMs of India. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Aditya Singh, President, Jetwings said, “The institute is ready to operate and our mission will be to discover, preserve and disseminate knowledge; to educate the next generation of students, and across SIHM and beyond. To foster a wider culture of inquiry beyond that. With a vision to empower our youth with skill training in Hotel and Hospitality Management, we have started SIHM, where a wide variety of courses in the service sector are offered to young aspirants. will be made accessible.
