Who We Are

The State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition(SIHM) Manipur, is an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and undertaken by the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur. The Institute offers 5 Bachelors degree, 2 Masters degree & 3 Diploma Programs in Hotel & Hospitality Administration, under Dhanamanjuri University.

Sprawling across 5.1 acres of land in the picturesque valley of the capital city Imphal, located in the eastern part of the city, the SIHM Manipur campus harbours state-of-the-art infrastructure of international standards. Created with a vision to impart world class hospitality training, the range of courses offered by SIHM Manipur prepares the students to compete in the international diaspora.

SIHM Manipur PPP Partners

Jettwings Group of Institutes under its parent company Infovalley Educational and Research (P) Ltd in partnership with Department of Tourism, Govt. of Manipur has collaborated to establish, run and operate all functions of SIHM-Manipur, in PPP mode for harnessing skills among youths in the travel & hospitality segment with international standards and intends to co-create a workforce to promote and popularize eastern hospitality in the international scenario. With two decades of experience and expertise in skill training in the hospitality sector, the group intends to develop SIHM Manipur into one of the most sought after SIHMs of India.

Dhanamanjuri University (DM University)

Dhanamanjuri University (DM University) was founded on April 6 of the year 2018 under “ The Dhanamanjuri University Act, 2017 “ The University was established under the National Scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).

The University was established under the RUSA scheme as the fulfillment of one of its primary components i.e., to convert colleges into cluster Universities. In recognition of Maharani Dhanamanjuri’s contribution to the development of Higher Education who also gifted the Dhanamanjuri College, the university is named after her.

The University is built up of the three Dhanamanjuri Colleges namely DM College of Science, DM College of Arts, DM College of Commerce along with G.P. Women’s College, and LMS Law College, all of which occupy common, adjoining, or neighboring physical spaces.

Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur

Manipur is strategically located in the Northeastern corner of India bordering Myanmar. The state serves as a corridor for India to the South East Asian countries and offers immense possibilities for growth of tourism and regional business. Adorned with a variety of breath-taking locations, the state is indeed a paradise on Earth where Mother Nature has been extra generous in her bounty. Least touched and least discovered, Manipur is a promising tourist destination for adventure and nature lovers alike.

The Ministry of Tourism, is the nodal agency for the formulation of national policies and programs and for the coordination of activities of various Central Government Agencies, State Governments/UTs and the Private Sector for the development and promotion of tourism in the country. The Ministry is headed by the Union Minister for Tourism and Ministers of State.

The Ministry of Tourism functions as the nodal agency for the development of tourism in the country. It plays a crucial role in coordinating and supplementing the efforts of the State/Union Territory Governments, catalyzing private investment, strengthening promotional and marketing efforts and in providing trained manpower resources.
